Summer With The Wrights
Hey Cerson's.
It's samers!!
This summer i had an exceptionally great offer from Roxanne and Mitch wright(AKA my uncle and aunt, of course). To babysit Brooklyn and Julia for five weeks in the summer Everyday of the week; Monday to Friday. Maybe Saturday or Sunday; if Roxanne and Mitch wanted to get away for a bit to have some "peace" and "quite". Anyway, its been really great it's like i have two little sisters, which is really cool. Except i think i would rather stick with having an older and younger brother. Especially because i wouldn't have to look after them and play with them 24/7. There's been some yelling, screaming, kicking, punching, but we've gotten through those times and have had a great summer so far. I hope there having fun, because i know that I am:) We have done a number of things from biking, to playing outside, to picking tomatoes and beans out of the garden, and played out of my very own "Fun Box." That i think there hooked on because every second of the day they ask if they can play with something that's inside. But sometimes i have to say "no" because i don't have that much stuff in there for the whole summer. The coolest thing that happened to me this summer had to have been well... two things: going to the caves, watching everyone try to fit down a tiny crack and then watching Roxanne try to get out of the cave up the crack. While shes doing so the rest of us are just waiting to get out; and then a minute later Brooklyn asked Roxanne if shes gotten up yet and Roxanne says "no Brooklyn not yet its hard to get up." Considering that it was cooled and wet and full of nasty little creatures. Then like 3 seconds after her comment she thumps all the way down the crack and slides right back to where she had started. It must have been really scary for her, but even if it was it was the highlight of my summer, it was SO funny. Her very own "Slip and Slide." And the other really fun/cool thing was horseback riding. My first time on a horse since i was 5 or 6, and i loved it. It was sort of hard because you have to sit up straight and keep your balance on the horse; it was extraordinarily hard especially when the horse started to trot.(which is going faster then walking.) But it was really fun and i thank my aunt roxanne and uncle mitch for taking me there for my birthday. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH. Hmmmm what else happened this summer so far. Oh. At grandpa larrys birthday flethcer was running like mad downstairs like he was chasing after something, who knows right. So anyway he was running like mad downstairs and he went near the back downstairs door, i guess he wanted to go outside because he tryed to get out but of course he couldn't because well the screen door was sort of there in his way so he smacked right into it and then turned and hit the glass door right after. what a dog.. what a dog. But then doug explained that fletcher probably thought that all doors have little doors in them because fletcher has his very own doggy door at home. But it was really funny just watching the little bugger fly through the house. Anyway i think thats enough for today.
Buh Bye For Now.

My Brother's Big Fat Sikh Wedding Part I
You might have been wondering how I've been occupying my time in the last couple of weeks, especially since I didn't get to enjoy Chautauqua with you.. so I thought I'd give you and interim report on my activities. Short hand version: I went to SanFrancisco, participated in nine traditional & non traditional wedding related functions in five days, was reduced to a whisper by halfway through, managed to muddle along till the very end (and yes, ate & danced & partied to the best of my abilities... even paid homage to the best bead store ever) and recovered my voice as soon as I stepped off the airplane at Lester B. And somewhere in the midst of that my sweet little non religious non traditional baby brother had the most traditional wedding I've ever attended. If you're interested the Really Long Version comes complete with descriptions of all the functions, and there's a plethora of gorgeous pictures to go with it. But not today. The wedding reception takes place this weekend here in town & I still have 150 place cards to get finished before then!! In the meantime, here's a picture of my cousins & I with mehendi (henna) on our hands... Minda

Long Weekend CottageFest
Sigh. I just dropped Fletcher off at his babysitter's for the week & the rest of the Cerson clan has taken off for the Ozarks-oops, I mean Chautauqua (sp??!)- so I thought I'd show people what the puppy was up to last weekend. He spent 2 days at the Steels' cottage on Jack's Lake, near Apsley, making friends, chasing chipmunks and eating goose poop. He tried canoing, guided the motorboat, hiked to the beautiful swimming hole (it was cold, and there was so much goose poop to be had on shore that he went in only briefly), cuddled with every cute girl around and played rough with all the boys. Although he was scared by his first experience with fireworks he braved through it with the help of the aforementioned cute girls, but this all left him so tired by Sunday night that he didn't even participate in karaoke! He was the picture of puppy perfection and everyone is asking when he's going back up to visit :) Thanks to Brenna & her family & friends for a memorable weekend! Don't forget to visit the Picasa web album for all the pics...

Another great day of...food!
It was a fine day for a visit from Dad and Marie. When Minda has a culinary craving we all benefit. We had a fabulous Pad Thai lunch with Mussels and salad. Some beverages on the deck...literally. You know what they say about Asian food, a couple of hours later and you are hungry. There may have been other factors which drove Logan to the BBQ. It was picture worthy. I started the BBQ, he did the rest! Check out the grill marks!

First time at the starting line!
I really meant to put this up last week.
For those who don't know...I really like biking and the outdoors in general.
Last week Logan entered a provincial high school Mountain Bike Race that I was volunteering at. He
was in a group of about 50 and he was one of 4 kids age 11 and under. I am not absolutely sure, but I think he was the only 11 year old first time racer! In the end..he crossed the finish line on 2 wheels. This is the goal of every racer or rider who hits the single track trails!
Along the way he stopped to help another rider who was having an asthma attack and rode out beside him so the rider was not alone! They both finished last. He rode, he finished and he made me so proud to know my son can be a humanitarian first!

Our newest addition
Well the house just keeps on growing... we've added an island in the kitchen (no, not the tropical kind) 2 weeks ago, and today the new dining room table arrived!! The boys put the chairs together (Logan did 2 on his own, continuing the Cerson handyman legacy) and have already piled stuff on so it can feel right at home. As you can see the seats are white so I'm thinking it would be a good idea to leave the plastic on for a little while... Can't wait for everyone to come over & party in the new elegant surroundings - sanitary toilet seat covers will be distributed in case the plastic has been removed. Non compliant guests will be respectfully removed from the premises, or will be re-upholstering the seats forewith (staple gun will be provided).

Dog days of Spring?!
Well it is finally almost done! While Fletcher found a small bit of shade on the deck, Minda and I worked like a well oiled machine finishing the trim and putting new window treatments up at my house!
It was exactly one year ago this weekend that several (unnamed) individuals coerced me into tearing down the kitchen wall! Minda is now regretting pointing that out! On the positive side, I only spent 2 weekends working on the kitchen...they were just 1 year apart!

back to reality...
Well we made it back - sad to leave but glad to be home & pick up puppy from his babysitters. We had them over tonight (Terry, Jeremy & Tanya and their kids) and got to hear all the fun stories of Fletcher's adventures terrorizing cats, other dogs (he discovered female dogs while we were away, but apparently hasn't quite figured out which end is up... ask for the story at easter), jumping in the half frozen pool and keeping Terry awake at night. We gave them each a bottle of tequila in the hopes it will dim their memories of the week so that they might consent to take him again at some point!
We hope Grandpa & Grandma Marie are enjoying their last evening in paradise...have a margarita for us, a safe flight back & we look forward to seeing everyone next weekend at Easter :)

Hi you all
well Doug and Min are on their way home and we just returned from Myakoba golf resort were roger and I played golf sort of and then we had a fabulous lunch on the beach.
We had a great week with Doug and Min and I am sure they will post some pictures etc when they get home.
The computers are very slow here and that is why we have not been communicating very well.
Looking foward to seeing everybody at easter and to some spring weather when we get home.
Albeit it will very tough to beat the weather we have had here.
It has been mostly sunny well always sunny close to 80 degrees and always a delightful wind to keep you feeling quite comfortable.
Love always Grandpa and Grandma Marie xxooxoo

a peek at paradise, gringo dave style
So today Doug & I spent the day with Gringo Dave, whom you all may remember as the wobbly rodney dangerfield impersonator that runs the local juke joint at the end of the marina. He took us for a drive to his 'weekend getaway' at the south end of the state to show us his new venture and boy were we blown away... and that's not even sarcasm there. It was the most incredibly gorgeous lake - all the bright shades of aquamarine, tourquoise and seafoam green that should be punishable offenses in prom/bridesmaid dresses are surprisingly breathtaking in real life waterscape. It was like the colours of Tulum water on steroids. We'll have to tell you all about the rest of that adventure (..and yes of course we have pictures!) including the arabian house & the swift current noodle drift when we return in just a couple
Sandra & Marie made an eventful trip to WalMart and the new Playa del Carmen grocery store, where it took them 45 minutes and security clearance to buy a bottle of wine & 6 diet cokes. Again, a story that needs to be told with pantomime for full effect so make sure you ask for that story at Easter.
It finally rained tonight. I think we counted 15 drops.

day at the beach
Hi everyone
We spent today at "OUR BEACH". Waves, two for one cervasa, sun, wind......................Doug has a very red forehead and I a very red face. Heeeee Watched a kite boarder who was amazing--up for about two hours. His wife waited on the beach (topless) and the boys ran the batteries low on the camera. Let you guess whose picture they were taking.
Tonight we are cooking the wahoo that larry caught yesterday .
Memories of all of you at every turn. Can't wait until next march. xomac and ldc
Mexican Groundhog day
There really is not much to tell. Everything is suspiciously consistant! Each day begins with the rising of the sun. We then partake in some absorption of said sun. Finally we end our day strapping on the feedbags as the sun sets. We say our goodbyes (to the sun), pretend we have the energy to go out on the "town" and then say our good nights at 9pm. When we awake, we repeat and the sun does its role!

Get me out of here!
Yes, it is about time someone added to the blog. Of course, I really don't have time to add too much. It is 8 am and nearly 80 degrees! So sitting inside infront of the computer is just wrong.
Minda and I had the best Tacos ever yesterday. We found a little VW van that was converted into a Taco stand. Pictures to follow. Gotta go the boat is setting sail.

Thursday in Mexico

Today was quite hot and Roger and I played golf well Roger played gold my game was more like tennis. Doug and Minda went off to Playa del Carmen and we went downtown Puerto Aventuras . Marie and Sandra bought some clothes and stuff , Roger and I watched the PGA on a big screen at the sports bar.
We are soon going to have dinner I hope and I think Doug and Minda have been talked into cooking it , they are swimming at the moment.
Hope you are all having fun in the spring weather up there , and look forward to Easter and July in New York in the meantime we are loving it in Mexico. Hey Mitch are you really coming down for the weekend.

Big News!
Cody was accepted to Conestoga College! Yahoo!
He has also recently started a career at the Superstore!
Off to the new world of adulthood. Go Cody!
Milk...
My lack of milk is nothing compared to the lack of protein in your diet. I think is time that the medical practitioners in the family sat you down for a chat! Oh ya...nice kitty bag, Mac!
doug is weird!
Doug is a weird man, he doesn't have milk in his fridge literary what kind of person doesn't have milk is their fridge?:(
5 kids, 2 teens, 5 adults, and 2 dogs!!
On march 17 Sam and Mac babysat the young ones (Mia, Zach, Carson, Julia, and Brooklyn), while all of the adults went out to celebrate St. Patrick's day. The two babysitters set off on a long hard journey to a world full of chaos and fun. During this time period the children got tired every minute, and finally sat down to watch a movie. We couldn't decide what movie(curious George or little foot) so we played a game to decide on which one. But that still did not satisfy the kids, we had half of the kids wanting to watch the one movie and the other half wanting to watch thy other. So then one movie was to be watched in the living room and thy other in the work out room downstairs. Me(Sam) and Mac finally got the kids to bed, some very quiet and some not so quiet. After our long hard day me and Mac sat down to watch our own movie. A wonderful movie called THUNDER BIRDS.
